A Career In The Trades In Canada

In 2006, Compétences Canada and The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum partnered up to develop an initiative trades in canadaaddressing the shortage of skilled tradesmen and women in Canada. Together they launched a campaign to promote careers in the trades called: Skilled Trades: A Career you can Build On.

Through this ongoing campaign, thousands of people considering a career in the trades have learned about the job security, good pay and great opportunity that working in the trades provides.

Did you know?

“Between 2000 and 2011, the average weekly wages of full-time workers (in Canada) aged 25 to 34 with trades certificates grew by 14%, while bachelor degree holders saw their wage growth slow to 1%.”*
