A variety of scholarships are available to men and women interested in becoming plumbers, HVAC techs and electricians to help these individuals pursue their dreams of careers within the trades.
The Nexstar Legacy Foundation
The intent of the scholarship program is to bring talent into, and enhance and train existing talent, in the industries of plumbing, HVAC, and electric. A variety of scholarships are available at all levels of the industry, including scholarships for individuals who are planning to run or work in management at a businesses in this industry, individuals who are working on their technical degrees and special training opportunities for veterans.

Scholarships are a great financial aid option for students who qualify. Many scholarships are provided by organizations and corporations, each with their own qualifying factors. Scholarship qualifications may include merit, financial need, ethnicity, military service, or major.

The Plumbing Council of Chicagoland
Today many of our most promising young people cannot attend college due to financial barriers. Developing the next generation of leaders will require supporting qualified students who are driven to learn yet many not have the resources to continue their studies. Therefore, the board of directors of the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland had decided to sponsor four $2,500 scholarships annually. These scholarships will be awarded to a Chicago Journeymen Plumbers’ Union Local 130, U.A. immediate family member (including if member is a legal guardian of the applicant). Members must be in continuous good standing membership and must work for a company under contract with Local 130. Family members of the employees of the Plumbing Council, Plumbing Contractors Association or the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers’ Union Local 130, U.A. and Plumbing Council Contractors are eligible.
World Plumbing Council
The World Plumbing Council is pleased to invite applications for its Education and Training Scholarship. The Scholarship (which has been renamed after a review) is available to anyone involved in plumbing industry education and training. The award for 2013, which is worth a maximum of US$10,000, will enable the successful applicant to travel to another country to investigate aspects of industry education and training.
ASPE – American Society of Plumbing Engineers
Every year many ASPE Chapters offer scholarship programs to promote the field of plumbing engineering to recognize high school or college students who will enroll in an engineering program. Women in HVACR Scholarhsips
The Women in HVACR organization is delighted to be able to sponsor two (2) $2,000 scholarships targeted towards women who are entering the trades, especially HVACR. One scholarship will be targeted towards women attending a Trade School or Technical School and the other towards women attending a Degree Program at a Four-Year College.
Women in HVACR is the first international organization for women in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry. Our members are dynamic women making great strides in what has typically been a male-driven industry. Our mission is to empower women to succeed through networking opportunities, mentorship and education.
